Katie Widner

Picture
Currently working as a news anchor and reporter for WCWTV Eyewitness News in Tallahassee, Fl.
A broadcast journalist with an arsenal of talent on screen and off, Katie is a storyteller who can do it all, from anchoring and hosting, to writing, editing and producing. A quick wit, an affinity for travel and an insatiable appetite for learning have all contributed to her passion for her profession. From the time she was a little girl pretending to host red carpet interviews in the
family room wearing her sister’s prom dress until the day she was awarded the Professional Promise Award by California State University Fullerton upon graduating with her bachelors in broadcast, her calling was clear.
Today, the SoCal native has left the family room—and prom dress—behind in lieu of capturing stories in the remote northern provinces of Vietnam, going on location as a correspondent for The Insider to cover the Royal Couple’s visit to the Santa Barbara Polo &
Racquet Club, and hosting and reporting on everything from sports to business and odd news for the HiFi Network’s Freshies
sites. She has even moonlighted as a model and host for high-fashion e-commerce site, Vogue Wigs. From breaking news to entertainment, she's always ready for the next adventure in front of the lens.

Soon after, Kanika began hosting on AfterBuzz TV in October of 2014 as well as a new show under the Popcorn Talk Network called BollyWHAT?!. Kanika thrives on discovering hidden stories and engaging with all types of people. She hopes to have an influence in the world of arts, pop culture, politics and science.
